Breakfast celebration for the delivery of BlueScope Steel’s MCL7
25/08/2026

Prime Construction celebrated the successful delivery of the Metal Coating Line 7 (MCL7) facility for BlueScope Steel at Erskine Park with a breakfast bringing together contractors and BlueScope’s project team. After 28 months of complex delivery – navigating a tight 22m footprint, six-metre cellars, and up to 300 workers onsite daily – the team paused to celebrate the $450 million facility now up and running. Guests toured the finished line, watching coiled steel move through the very systems they helped build. A proud moment marking genuine collaboration and outstanding delivery under pressure.

Partnering with communities

Prime Constructions takes an active role in supporting the communities where we operate, creating lasting social value by partnering with organisations that tackle disadvantage, build capability and strengthen local connections. We work closely with both established and emerging initiatives, providing practical support and guidance to help them grow and succeed.

Our teams actively contribute through volunteering, fundraising, mentoring and providing in-kind support such as professional expertise, equipment and materials. We combine targeted financial contributions with direct, hands-on involvement to ensure our impact is meaningful and sustainable.

By engaging our people, we foster shared purpose while helping organisations expand their reach. Some of the charity and sporting organisations we proudly support include Our Big Kitchen | Cancer Council | Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation | Mates In Construction | National Breast Cancer Foundation | Sydney Outrigger Canoe Club | UNSW Wests Water Polo Club | Black Dog Institute | Property Industry Foundation | Prostate Foundation of Australia | Starlight Children’s Foundation | St Vincent de Paul Society | Freshwater Surf Lifesaving Club | Young Care.

Sustainability

Sustainability is embedded in how Prime Constructions plans, builds and delivers projects across New South Wales. We take a responsible approach that goes beyond compliance, actively managing environmental impacts while delivering high-quality, long-lasting built outcomes.

We focus on reducing waste through reuse and recycling, improving energy and water efficiency, and protecting surrounding ecosystems through careful planning, strong site controls and continual improvement of our environmental management practices. Our commitment to sustainability is supported by robust work health and safety systems, ongoing training and a proactive safety culture that prioritises the wellbeing of our people.

We also prioritise ethical procurement, supporting local and diverse suppliers and promoting fair, transparent practices across our supply chain. Through close collaboration with clients, consultants and stakeholders, we deliver resilient projects that create enduring environmental and community value.

Safety first

At Prime Constructions, safety is our highest priority and a core company value. Guided by strong family values, we are committed to ensuring everyone returns home safely at the end of each day.

We provide safe workplaces, systems of work and fit-for-purpose plant and equipment, supported by robust WHS policies, site-specific management plans and Safe Work Method Statements for high-risk activities. These systems ensure hazards are identified, risks are controlled and work is effectively planned and monitored.

Our safety approach is built on leadership, proactive risk management, strong controls, and continuous improvement. We empower our people through training, consultation and open communication, including the authority to stop work if something isn’t safe.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility, and we are committed to creating physically and psychologically safe workplaces where people feel respected, supported and heard.
