Rand Refrigerated Transport Facility
Prime Constructions delivered the Rand Refrigerated Transport facility in Homebush Bay, NSW, a purpose-built cold storage and distribution hub designed to meet Goodman’s tenant requirements. The 24,000-pallet capacity facility features both freezer and chiller capabilities and includes over 2,500m² of staging area, supporting high-volume pick-up, delivery and cold chain logistics operations.
The project required specialised thermal insulation and structural engineering to achieve stringent cold chain standards. Prime incorporated Foamular Extruded Polystyrene underfloor insulation across 28,000m², providing exceptional thermal performance, moisture resistance and long-term energy efficiency. The facility also includes complex electrical and refrigeration infrastructure, including an 850kW generator integrated with the main switchboard to support continuous temperature-controlled operations.
Constructed with precision and efficiency, the single large freezer complex and accompanying chiller zones are complemented by custom staging areas and structural elements designed to optimise operational workflow. The project highlights Prime’s expertise in delivering large-scale, temperature-controlled logistics facilities that are energy-efficient, compliant with industry standards and capable of supporting future growth.
